Is Almer\u00eda worth a visit?<\/h2>\n\n

Almer\u00eda is well worth a visit for its rich historical heritage and contrasting landscapes. We were particularly impressed by its majestic Alcazaba, one of the largest Muslim fortresses in Spain.And its strategic location between sea and desert offers a diversity of landscapes to explore, including the Tabernas Desert and the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, with its unspoilt volcanic landscapes.<\/p>\n\n

Reason 1 – Its majestic Alcazaba, a historical treasure<\/h2>\n\n

If you’re visiting Almer\u00eda, you won’t want to miss its Alcazaba! Perched on a hill overlooking the city and its bay, this fortress is one of the most impressive medieval defensive monumental ensembles in al-Andalus <\/em>(period of Arab rule between the VIII\u1d49 and XV\u1d49 centuries).
