Yes, the Royal Stables are well worth a visit. In fact, it’s one of the best things to do in Cordoba<\/a>! This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a unique place where history and equestrian tradition meet. We were fascinated by the remarkable architecture and the opportunity to see the famous Andalucia horses. The equestrian show is particularly impressive, allowing you to admire the grace of these magnificent animals. <\/p>\n\n

Why are the Royal Stables so famous?<\/h3>\n\n

The Royal Stables of Cordoba are famous for being the birthplace of the Andalusian horse<\/strong>. Founded in 1570 by Philip II, we learned that they were created with the aim of developing a new breed of horse, strong and agile: the “purebred Spanish”.The Cordovan stables are also renowned for their permanent equestrian show <\/strong>, which combines Flamenco dance and dressage.In 1929, the site was declared a National Historic Monument, and in 1994 was declared a UNESCO World Heritage<\/strong> Site.<\/p>\n\n

We particularly enjoyed discovering the horses<\/strong> and observing their majesty. During your visit, please respect the animals <\/strong>by adopting a calm attitude that respects their tranquillity. If you’re lucky enough to visit the stables during one of the riders’ training sessions<\/strong>, you’ll be in for a real treat.We also enjoyed visiting theold main building, with its <\/strong>giganticvaults <\/strong>supported by sandstone columns.<\/p>\n\n
