Is it long enough?<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2 days, you can discover <a href=\"https:\/\/andalucialovers.com\/en\/best-things-to-do-cadiz-visit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cadiz&#8217;s must-sees<\/a>: the Baroque Cathedral, the Torre Tavira, the historic center with its picturesque streets and the Parc Genov\u00e9s for a green break. You can also relax on the beaches. Its <strong>narrow streets<\/strong>, mostly pedestrian, are often shaded. Look up and you&#8217;ll discover oriels and magnificent balconies with meticulous detail. They bear witness to the singular history of Cadiz, considered to be the oldest city in Europe. This <strong>labyrinth of streets<\/strong> reveals a lively life, punctuated by caf\u00e9s and restaurants where it&#8217;s pleasant to take a break.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continuing your exploration, you&#8217;ll reach the <strong>Roman Theatre of Gad\u00e8s<\/strong>, an impressive vestige nestled right in the heart of the town. Built in the 1st century BC, it could accommodate up to <strong>10,000 spectators<\/strong>. Its tiers and interior galleries, still visible today, allow us to appreciate the ingenuity of the ancient builders. Reservations recommended on +34 856 66 48 61.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As you leave the restaurant and head towards the cathedral, you&#8217;ll pass under the<strong>Arco de la Rosa<\/strong>, an ancient gate in the medieval city wall.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Afternoon: visit to the Cathedral and Torre Del Reloj<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/andalucialovers.com\/en\/visit-cathedral-cadiz-andalucia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cadiz Cathedral<\/a> is an emblematic monument whose construction, begun in the 18th century, took <strong>116 years<\/strong> to complete, blending Baroque and Neoclassical styles. We particularly liked its <strong>gold-tiled dome<\/strong>, once a landmark for sailors. Its fa\u00e7ade, alternating limestone and oyster stone, offers a beautiful contrast. Inside, columns, ceilings,<strong> sculpted stalls<\/strong> and imposing organs illustrate the architectural richness of the site. From the top, we could admire the <strong>360-degree<\/strong> view of the city and its bay. Here you can contemplate the city&#8217;s distinctive architecture and the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean. After strolling along the <strong>waterfront<\/strong> at <strong>sunset<\/strong>, head for the <strong>El Faro Restaurant in Cadiz<\/strong>. It&#8217;s a veritable institution. In a small alley on the edge of town, you&#8217;ll find 2 spaces: a chic dining room and a tapas bar. The menu features a wide range of local specialities, tapas and traditional dishes. A must-have. It&#8217;s a haven of peace on the edge of the city. You&#8217;ll discover fascinating <strong>exotic species<\/strong> such as Monterey cypress and Norfolk Island pine. Created at the end of the 18th century, this park is an ideal green space for getting into shape.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Tavira Tower<\/strong> is one of Cadiz&#8217;s <strong>140<\/strong> historic <strong>watchtowers<\/strong>, and the only one with a <strong>Camera Obscura<\/strong>. In Cadiz, we enjoyed this unique system invented by <strong>Leonardo da Vinci<\/strong>. You&#8217;ll also discover 2 fascinating exhibition rooms that trace the history of Cadiz and explain how the <strong>Camera Obscura<\/strong> works. Vegan restaurant, 2 steps from the cathedral, offering creative, tasty cuisine in a plant-based atmosphere. The ch\u00e2teau hosts numerous cultural events, including exhibitions by artists in residence and summer concerts. We particularly appreciated the <strong>ocean views <\/strong>from its fortified walls. You can extend your beach walk to Castillo San Sebastian. More info <a href=\"https:\/\/turismo.cadiz.es\/es\/rutas-y-visitas-en-cadiz\/castillo-de-santa-catalina\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">here<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Follow the <strong>Paseo Fernando Quinones<\/strong> for <strong>1.5km<\/strong> to reach the <strong>Castillo San Sebastian<\/strong>, which stands on a <strong>small island<\/strong>. This other fortress has a fascinating history dating back to the Greeks, when the island was home to the <strong>temple of Kronos<\/strong>. Its current name comes from a chapel built in the 15th century by sailors fleeing the plague. The castle was built in the early 18th century and includes an electric <strong>lighthouse<\/strong> dating from 1908, the second largest in Spain.
