1. Restaurant La Taberna de Almodovar (Bib gourmand)
Nestled in an alleyway in the historic center, La Taberna de Almodovar embodies the very essence of the traditional Cordovan tavern. This family-run establishment, awarded a Bib Gourmand by the Michelin Guide, will immediately immerse you in the authentic atmosphere of Andalucia’s tapas bars, with an added touch of refinement. We particularly appreciated the quality of the local produce used in the simple but tasty recipes.
On our visit, we began our meal with the inevitable croquetas with serrano ham and a lomo de atun (tuna prepared tataki-style). But the choice was complicated by the wide range of classic tapas on the menu, revisited with finesse. We then sampled a delicious paletillo de cordero lechal al horno, which means a shoulder of suckling lamb browned in the oven. The Taberna de Almodovar also offers a selection of carefully chosen regional wines to accompany your dishes. The ideal place to discover Cordoban gastronomy in an elegant, refined atmosphere.

Noor is more than a restaurant, it’s a true immersion in the history and culinary richness of Andalucia, where each dish recounts a fragment of Cordoba’s past. Headed by renowned chef Paco Morales, Noor offers menus inspired by the region’s Hispano-Moorish heritage. Traditional recipes are revisited, with particular attention paid to local produce and oriental spices. We loved the open-plan kitchen opening onto the dining room, with its sobriety and harmony that will awaken your senses between each dish. The sober, contemporary decor contrasts with the complexity of the flavors, allowing you to focus on the essential: the plate. We recommend a visit to discover subtle and surprising tastes, where textures and fragrances are skilfully blended.
You may be surprised by the delicacy of each dish, which transcends historic cuisine with an assertive modernity, but without extravagance. Menu items include marinated oysters with sautéed spinach, dates and pine nuts, or grilled bass with rose escabeche, burnt lemon and verdina-style vegetables. A visit to this establishment will take you on a tasty journey through Andalusia’s past.

For example, the chef offers a creative version of beet salmorejo, served with tuna ventrèche confit and capers, or a traditional mazamorra enhanced by smoked eel.
