Sevilla’s best restaurants: our 3 favourites
In this article, you’ll find detailed reviews of each of our selected establishments. But we couldn’t resist sharing our 3 favorite addresses with you right now:
- Restaurant Lalola (bib Michelin): we were won over by this high-quality, affordable restaurant. We particularly recommend it for meat lovers.
- Restaurant Maestro Rufino: we loved spending time on the very pleasant terrace of this tapas restaurant, where we enjoyed specialties such as salmorejo, a cold tomato soup.
- Restaurant Petit Comité: beautifully decorated, this restaurant offers an elegant setting for tasting typical Andalucia dishes.

Michelin-starred restaurants in Sevilla
1. Restaurant Cañabota (1 Michelin star)
This Michelin-starred restaurant is ideally located in Sevilla’s historic center. He specializes in seafood. Enjoy cod, gambas al ajillo (king prawns with garlic), chipirones fritos (fried cuttlefish) and the signature marinated sardine. Although prices are high for Sevilla, the finesse of this cuisine is well worth it! What’s more, we like the option of choosing between à la carte dishes and different menus.

Inside, you’ll appreciate the warm, minimalist atmosphere, and above all the chance to see the brigade at work! And if you prefer a livelier atmosphere, the restaurant also has a tapas bar, called “La Barra de Cañabota”. Don’t hesitate, it’s just a stone’s throw from the restaurant and will allow you to taste this refined cuisine in a more accessible way!

- Neighborhood: Regina.
- Type: gastronomic starred.
- Capacity: less than 25 covers.

2. Restaurant Lalola (bib Michelin)
We were delighted by this Michelin Bib award-winning restaurant. The cuisine is of the finest quality, with top-quality products that will delight meat lovers in particular. We chose à la carte dishes because the tasting menu, although very affordable, requires a big appetite! It includes 5 starters, 5 main courses and 5 desserts, with rather generous portions. Be aware that if you want to take it, everyone at your table will have to do the same.

Our experience began with the cocktail of the day, which we found exquisite. It was made with Saint-Germain liqueur, ginger and cava rosada, a sparkling rosé wine produced in the Barcelona region. We then opted for a presa ibérica (a tender piece of meat corresponding to the central part of the pork loin), accompanied by endives cooked at a low temperature, and a succulent pannacotta for dessert. We were served a sausage butter to accompany the bread. We found it surprising but delicious! Finally, chef Javi Abascal has chosen the modern setting of Torrejón’s One Shot Palacio Conde hotel to set up his restaurant.

Practical information:
- Neighborhood: Feria.
- Type: gastronomic.
- Capacity: more than 25 place settings.
- Price range: menu from €65 per person, à la carte dishes from €16 (excluding drinks).

- Reservations highly recommended here.
3. Restaurant Sobretablas (bib Michelin)
Leaving Sevilla’s historic center, we head south to the El Porvenir district. We were charmed by this place, very close to the magnificent Plaza de España. As we rounded a bend, we came upon this superb building erected in 1929 for the Ibero-American Exposition, a major event celebrating the ties uniting Spain with Latin America and the United States, and Portugal with Brazil. The interior features private lounges and a large terrace.

Redeveloping the building into a restaurant was the brainchild of chef Camila Ferraro and sommelier Robert Tetas, who still run the establishment today. The menu features Andalucia dishes such as tuna served withajoblanco sauce, a cold soup made from breadcrumbs and almonds. Dressing is particularly meticulous. Like Lalola, the tasting menu is affordable, so don’t hesitate!

Practical information:
- Neighborhood: El Porvenir.
- Type: gastronomic.
- Capacity: more than 25 place settings.
- Price range: tasting menu from €75 per person, à la carte dishes from €24 (excluding drinks).

Best bistronomic restaurants in Sevilla
4. Eneko Basque Restaurant
From the name of this restaurant, you’ll understand that it serves Basque specialties. Chef Eneko Atxa Azurmendi hails from this region of northwest Spain. It brings a touch of creativity and modernity to traditional, convivial dishes. This has earned the restaurant a place in the Michelin Guide.

We appreciate the menu as much as the elegant, colorful and modern interior design. The restaurant is located in the Radisson Collection Hotel Magdalena Plaza Sevilla. We recommend this 5-star hotel if you want to extend the experience. In any case, this will be the setting for your tasting of one of the 2 menus on offer. They include just one main course and one dessert, but 5 starters for the first and 7 for the second. As is customary in Spain, the whole table must take the same menu.

Practical information:
- District: Centre.
- Type: gastronomic.
- Capacity: more than 25 place settings.
- Price range: tasting menu from €59 per person (excluding drinks).
- Local specialities: no, Basque specialities.
- Particularly suitable for children: no.
- Reservations highly recommended here.
5. Restaurant Amara
This bistronomic restaurant in the El Arenal district caught our eye. Housed in a building typical of Sevillian architecture, it offers creative, high-quality cuisine combining Mediterranean and Andalucia influences. Here you can enjoy fresh local produce such as fish, seafood, meat and vegetables, in elaborate dishes with intense flavors. Inside, we appreciated the contemporary, minimalist and elegant setting.

The hardest part will be choosing! Chef Javier Fabo, trained in the Basque Country and London, revisits traditional Andalucia dishes. One example is ajoblanco (a cold soup with almonds and breadcrumbs), available in a coconut version with pineapple chutney! To fully enjoy the chef’s culinary creations, we recommend you opt for the 6-course tasting menu!

Practical information:
- Neighborhood: El Arenal.
- Type: gastronomic.
- Capacity: more than 25 place settings.
- Price range: 6-course menu at €48 per person, à la carte dishes from €18 (excluding drinks).
- Local specialities: yes, but revisited.
- Particularly suitable for children: no.
- We strongly advise you to book here.
6. Restaurant Petit Comité
Le Petit Comité is an elegant restaurant located just a stone’s throw from the Guadalquivir, the river that flows through Sevilla. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy, with jazz music, string lights, comfortable banquettes and antique paintings. We have seen that the restaurant is sometimes presented as serving a fusion of French and Andalucia traditions. There’s nothing French on the menu, so you can enjoy a change of scenery with traditional Andalucia dishes.

For our part, we chose to sample a very tender piece of meat, pluma ibérica, cooked on the grill (the part of the Iberian pig at the end of the backbone). It was served with potatoes and a nice bell pepper sauce. For dessert, we opted for a crumble and red fruit cheesecake, delicious and refreshing. Although we would have liked quicker and warmer service, we enjoyed ourselves at Le Petit Comité.

Practical information:
- Neighborhood: El Arenal.
- Type: bistronomic.
- Capacity: more than 25 place settings.
- Price range: à la carte dishes from €10.80 (excluding drinks).
- Local specialities: yes.
- Particularly suitable for children: no.
- Reservations recommended here.
7. Restaurant Chiquilla
We’re staying in the El Arenal district, which is definitely full of great addresses, to introduce you to this little restaurant. Although the exterior may not look like much, you can enjoy traditional Andalucia cuisine of the highest quality. Although the dishes are fairly classic, the starters are refined and daring, and the presentation meticulous. You’ll notice the influence of other culinary cultures, such as Vietnamese, with the use of shiso (a food and aromatic plant), or Mexican, with revisited tacos.

Inside, you’ll appreciate the friendly atmosphere. You can even eat directly at the bar if you like! If you’ve got an appetite, you can opt for the tasting menu, with 5 courses and a dessert. The 5 dishes change according to the season and the fresh produce available at the market.

Practical information:
- Neighborhood: El Arenal.
- Type: bistronomic.
- Capacity: more than 25 place settings.
- Price range: menu from €55 per person, à la carte dishes from €18 (excluding drinks).
- Local specialities: yes.
- Particularly suitable for children: no.
- Reservations recommended here.
8. Restaurant Acento Social Eatery
This restaurant will delight meat lovers, with no less than 6 dishes featuring the noblest cuts (veal fillet and ribs, pork fillet, and also secreto ibérico, a part of the back of the cheek of the Iberian pig). We also appreciate the variety of lighter, vegetal starters.

The restaurant’s trump card is also its desserts. You’ll notice that Andalucia restaurants almost always feature the same sweet dishes, such as cheesecake and chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. Here you’ll find a little more choice with a tiramisu and a vanilla crème brûlée. As far as we’re concerned, it was the chocolate coulant with mango sorbet and crumble that particularly caught our attention!

Practical information:
- Neighborhood: El Arenal.
- Type: bistronomic.
- Capacity: more than 25 place settings.
- Price range: à la carte dishes from €16.50 (excluding drinks).
- Local specialities: yes.

Best seafood restaurants in Sevilla
9. Restaurant El Disparate
Attention seafood lovers! This is the restaurant for you! Let’s start with its first asset: its pleasant terrace, in the lively but not very touristy Feria district. We loved strolling along the Alameda de Hércules, on which El Disparate is located. This Michelin-starred restaurant will delight you from starter to dessert.

In addition to salmon, anchovy, tuna and cod starters, there are several dishes based on fresh fish from the market. The specialty is cod confit, served with a choice of spinach and chickpeas, or mushrooms and potatoes. We also appreciate influences drawn from other culinary traditions, with Thai calamari with vegetables, green curry and coconut milk. Finally, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to desserts, whose creativity we applaud. Wouldn’t you be tempted by a mango and mint carpaccio with coconut, honey and lime ice cream?

Practical information:
- Neighborhood: Feria.
- Type: bistronomic.
- Capacity: more than 25 place settings.
- Price range: à la carte dishes from €21 (excluding drinks).
- Local specialities: yes.
- Particularly suitable for children: no.

10. Restaurant Mechela Arenal
Would you like to discover an inventive cuisine that sublimates seafood products? You’ve come to the right place! The Mechela Arenal restaurant offers creative, seasonal dishes right from the start. For example, you can enjoy sardines, anchovies and prawns. They are enhanced by other Mediterranean culinary influences, such as baba ganoush, an eggplant puree straight from Lebanon!

For the main course, you’ll also be spoilt for choice. While the restaurant’s specialties are prawns, scallops and octopus, you’ll also find original fish dishes. We were particularly drawn to the mackerel fillet with tabbouleh, a salmorejo (cold tomato and breadcrumbs soup) boldly revisited with carrots! Enjoy the warm, intimate setting of this restaurant and treat yourself!

Practical information:
- Neighborhood: El Arenal.
- Type: bistronomic.
- Capacity: more than 25 place settings.

Best restaurants in central Sevilla
11. Patio de Pali Restaurant
The whole of Sevilla is within easy walking distance. The restaurants in this section are located in the heart of the city, close to major tourist attractions. Patio de Pali is just a 5-minute walk from the cathedral! We were pleasantly surprised by the green setting of this establishment, right from the entrance.

Enjoy the peace and quiet of the terrace! On certain evenings, you can enjoy live guitar concerts in a subdued, romantic atmosphere. The à la carte menu features a wide range of tapas, traditional Andalusian fish and meat dishes, as well as paellas and rice dishes for sharing. For dessert, why not try a brownie with matcha tea, white chocolate, coconut and passion fruit?

Practical information:
- District: Centre.
- Type: bistronomic.
- Capacity: more than 25 place settings.
- Price range: à la carte dishes from €28 (excluding drinks).
- Local specialities: yes.
- Particularly suitable for children: no.
- Reservations recommended here.
12. Restaurant Justa Rufina
This very modern address serves traditional cuisine based on fresh, seasonal produce, with a welcome touch of creativity. While tapas, appetizers and a la carte grilled dishes are available, we advise you to take the menu. For lunch, you can enjoy Andalusian rice as a main course. A large frying pan will be served with the day’s rice, to be shared with the rest of the table. This Andalucia specialty usually takes about 30 minutes to prepare.

Don’t hesitate to take a look at the cocktail menu, which we found to be well-stocked with daring creations. A good example is the “Paloma”, made with tequila, lime juice, soda and bitter grapefruit liqueur, enhanced with sal Tajín, a Mexican seasoning of chilli, lime and salt. You can enjoy it on the restaurant’s rooftop, which hosts DJ nights every Friday and Saturday.

Practical information:
- District: Centre.
- Type: bistronomic.
- Capacity: more than 25 place settings.
- Price range: menu from €37 per person, à la carte dishes from €24 (excluding drinks).
- Local specialities: yes.
- Particularly suitable for children: no.
- Reservations recommended here.
13. Restaurant La Escaloná
We were seduced by the colorful facades of downtown Sevilla, and particularly by those of the Escaloná restaurant. Its lively terrace and friendly interior invite you to relax. The menu features a wide variety of tapas and dishes, with Spanish specialties including charcuterie, but also other Mediterranean influences (Moroccan-style chicken kebabs with couscous, Mexican pork tacos with pickled onion and kimchi sauce, a spicy Korean condiment made from fermented cabbage).

We also recommend a visit to the bar, where you can sample one of the typical drinks on offer. Why not have a sangria or a vermouth? You’ll also find other unjustly overlooked drinks that we particularly like, such as tinto de verano, a blend of red wine and lemonade. But what makes this bar so special is its rebujito, which is only available during the Sevilla Fair (Feria de Abril). Take the opportunity to taste this blend of dry white wine, mint and lemonade if you’re not visiting Sevilla during the fair. Drink in moderation, of course!

Practical information:
- District: Centre.
- Type: brewery.
- Capacity: more than 25 place settings.
- Price range: à la carte dishes from €12.90 (excluding drinks).
- Local specialities: yes.

Best tapas restaurants in Sevilla
14. Restaurant Maestro Rufino
This address is one of our favourites! First of all, we like the setting: a pleasant terrace to soak up the sun on the Alameda de Hércules, in the authentic district of Feria. This friendly tapas bar serves high-quality specialities.

This tapas bar and restaurant is where we enjoyed our best croquetas in Sevilla. These Serrano ham balls surrounded by breadcrumbs were very tasty. It was also in this bar that we tasted our best salmorejo, a cold tomato and breadcrumbs soup, accompanied here by olive oil and pieces of raw ham. We found it interesting to be able to take these different dishes, either as tapas or as a “main course”: it’s ideal for adapting to your appetite! The service was also efficient. We highly recommend this address for an authentic experience!

Practical information:
- Neighborhood: Feria.
- Type: Tapas bar.
- Capacity: more than 25 place settings.
- Price range: tapas from €3.50, à la carte dishes from €7 (excluding drinks).
- Local specialities: yes.
- Particularly suitable for children: no.
- Reservations can be made by telephone on +34 722 39 61 96.
15. Restaurant La Vermuteria de Sevilla
Still in the spirit of an authentic tapas bar, we recommend La Vermuteria de Sevilla. As its name suggests, it specializes in vermouth. It’s the ideal place to sample different varieties of this flavored wine-based beverage from the Catalonia region. You can sample a wide variety of tapas (charcuterie, meats, fish), with explanations given by the owner on the origin of the products. As the bar is very small, we recommend you get there as soon as it opens. With our warm and friendly welcome, we’re sure you’ll have a great time!

Practical information:
- Neighborhood: El Arenal.
- Type: tapas bar.
- Capacity: less than 25 covers.
- Price range: tapas from €4.50 per person, à la carte dishes from €39 (excluding drinks).
- Local specialities: yes.
- Particularly suitable for children: no.
- Reservations can be made on +34 644 80 91 04.
16. Restaurant Vuela Tapas & Cocktail
We end this selection of tapas bars with this address, which is very different from the others. Here, the atmosphere is more chic, if slightly chilly. It’s a tourist table and much more expensive than the previous ones. We recommend it if you want to try more elaborate tapas.

We enjoyed burrata salad, pancetta brioche with caramelized onions, ajo blanco (a cold soup made with almonds and breadcrumbs), and tuna tataki. We preferred the latter. It was accompanied by refreshing lemon jellies and radishes. We enjoyed watching the cooks prepare them in the open kitchen! Although the waiters encourage consumption, we advise you to treat these “tapas” as real dishes, as the portions are generous.

Practical information:
- Neighborhood: El Arenal.
- Type: tapas bar.
- Capacity: less than 25 covers.
- Price range: à la carte tapas from €7.50, main courses from €14.50 (excluding drinks).
- Local specialities: yes.

Best restaurants for a healthy lunch in Sevilla
17. Restaurant Mala Brunch
Looking for a brunch, Sunday lunch or a healthy meal? You’ve come to the right place! Our first recommendation is Mala Brunch, ideally located in Sevilla’s historic center. We didn’t eat very healthily because we were hungry, but this address may be suitable for vegetarians. There are both toasts and bowls with a mix of sweet and savory flavors, such as spinach toast, mushroom toast, avocado toast, lime egg toast and tomato toast. Why not enjoy them on the pleasant terrace?

In our case, we weren’t being too reasonable: we chose a ham and cheese croissant. We were also able to try a very good sandwich called “Cubano” made with roast pork, ham, cheddar cheese, pickles and mustard. For dessert, we were tempted by the “breakfast” proposals with these Nutella, hazelnut and banana pancakes. For beverages, you’ll find a wide selection of coffees, teas and smoothies.

Practical information:
- District: Centre.
- Type: light catering.
- Capacity: more than 25 place settings.
- Price range: à la carte dishes from €2.70 (excluding drinks).
- Local specialities: yes.
- Particularly suitable for children: no.
- Reservations can be made on +34 623 047 848.
18. Veganitessen Restaurant
Vegans and vegetarians have very little choice of restaurants in Sevilla and Andalucia in general. Fortunately, we found this particularly nice vegan bar in the Arenal district. It’s hidden away in the covered market of the same name, where you’ll find other food shops (market gardeners, cheesemongers, butchers, etc.).

Open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., you can eat directly at the counter or at the tables set up opposite. The bar serves Spanish specialties: tortillas and nachos are revisited in a vegan version, with avocado and cheese for example. There are also several salads, as well as brioche buns, pizzas and wraps. On the sweet side, you’ll find all kinds of pastries and a wide selection of soft drinks.

Practical information:
- Neighborhood: El Arenal.
- Type: light catering.
- Capacity: less than 25 covers.
- Price range: à la carte dishes from €4.50 (excluding drinks).
- Local specialities: yes.
- Particularly suitable for children: no.

Best restaurants with children in Sevilla
19. Bacao Restaurant
In Sevilla and the rest of Andalucia, it’s hard to select restaurants that are truly child-friendly. In fact, unlike in France, there is no children’s menu. So we’ve selected a few places where you can share a large rice dish, which we think is ideal for family meals. Bacao, located in the historic center, is an excellent place to eat.

You’ll be able to sample several types of rice. Whatever your taste, there’s something for everyone! There’s rice with meat, rice with scampi, and rice with vegetables. The rest of the menu includes creative starters that will keep your children waiting for the main course. For dessert, they’ll love a chocolate tart with whipped cream! The setting is elegant and comfortable, and the staff friendly.

Practical information:
- District: Centre.
- Type: bistronomic.
- Capacity: more than 25 place settings.
- Price range: à la carte dishes from €16.50, rice dishes from €19 per person (excluding drinks).
- Local specialities: yes.
- Particularly suitable for children: yes.
- Reservations recommended here.
20. Restaurant Baco Cuña 2 and Victoria Eugenia
Still in the historic center, we now take you to the Baco Cuña 2 restaurant. It has the advantage of a large surface area and fairly widely spaced tables, which we feel is important for a family meal. Large tables are also available. This establishment is nestled in a building by architect Anibal Gonzalez, who designed an architecture reminiscent of the 19th century (azulejos…).

The restaurant specializes in cod dishes and paellas, although the menu is very varied. It’s possible to order full or half portions, which we think is perfect for kids! Baco Cuña 2 is part of the Baco family business, founded in Sevilla in the 1980s. Today, the family runs two restaurants and a bar. They’re all located in particularly beautiful buildings, as you can see with this other family-friendly restaurant: the Victoria Eugenia.

Practical information:
- District: Centre.
- Type: brewery.
- Capacity: more than 25 place settings.
- Price range: à la carte dishes from €15 (excluding drinks).
- Local specialities: yes.
- Particularly suitable for children: yes.
- Reservations can be made on +34 954 21 11 07.
