Is the Cortijo La Organic hotel worth it? Our review
We loved this intimate and rejuvenating hotel, which has the air of a refuge. As soon as we arrived, we were struck by the beauty of this majestic residence, covered in a mantle of ivy and overlooking rolling countryside. The bright, spacious rooms combine modern comforts with the cachet of old buildings, while the restaurant serves simple, tasty dishes. Finally, its location close to the beautiful town of Ronda makes it an ideal place to discover the region.
In short, you’ll have understood that we were totally won over by the Cortijo LA Organic hotel, which has risen to the top of our list of favorite hotels in Ronda.
Decoration and atmosphere
The atmosphere at Hotel Cortijo LA Organic is imbued with a special serenity, the result of the harmony between an exceptional natural setting and a sober, authentic interior design.
In addition to its sober decor, you’ll love the hotel’s natural setting. The color palette is enchanting, with fragrant orange groves, lavender beds, poppies and a palette of greens as far as the eye can see, with olive trees and vines.
Finally, another remarkable aspect of the hotel is its friendly atmosphere, reminiscent of an authentic inn. A rare and welcome feature is that the staff are discreetly present, giving guests total freedom to enjoy the establishment as if they were at home. What’s more, we were seduced by the large bar in the reception area and the convivial table d’hôtes, which invites guests to get together.
The room
Our room was simple, uncluttered, bright and soothing, with designer furniture. Special mention for the cozy armchair and two small FLOS Bonjour Unplugged by Starck bedside lamps. We particularly liked the raw materials such as wood, natural tiles and the marble desk unit. The furnishings were mainly white, with a giant mirror for a full-length view and a king-size bed.
We also liked the olive-themed decor, with a picture of an olive tree and green sliding panels to separate the bedroom from the bathroom.
Last but not least, the best feature of our room was undoubtedly the beautiful terrace with its table and chairs, overlooking the surrounding countryside. We woke up to a pleasant cup of coffee. The room is equipped with a kettle and coffee machine. There’s also a wooden fan for hot days.

The bathroom
In our bedroom, the bathroom featured a beautiful walk-in shower. We found hygiene products from the Oliva cosmetics brand, a bathrobe and slippers. There was also a bidet, large towels, small wooden glasses and coasters with olives printed on them. We particularly appreciated the play of light from the small natural straw curtain hiding the bathroom window.
Note that the suites feature imposing bathtubs overlooking the countryside!
The breakfast
Breakfast at the Hotel Cortijo LA Organic in Ronda is continental. We enjoyed the variety of local produce on offer, including goat’s and cow’s cheeses, cold meats (lomo, chorizo, Iberian ham), fresh orange juice and fresh tomato salad. The selection of sweet products, such as croissants, cereals, fruit and yoghurt, completed the picture. Breakfast is served on a large table d’hôte in the kitchen, adding to the friendly atmosphere.
Equipment and common areas
Hotel Cortijo LA Organic features a swimming pool to help guests relax and refresh during their stay. Several deckchairs and umbrellas are available. We loved reading in this peaceful spot, among the lavender and olive trees.
Another of the Cortijo LA Organic’s assets is its magnificent shaded terrace overlooking the countryside. Admire the superb panorama, lulled by the rustle of leaves and birdsong. You can also ask the staff to serve you breakfast or an aperitif here.
And let’s not forget to mention the library lounge with its fine selection of books and novels. In winter, a large fireplace warms the atmosphere, and you can also watch TV.
The restoration
The hotel has a large table d’hôtes serving breakfast and dinner.
On the menu: simple but very tasty local products. You’ll find cheese boards, cold cuts (lomo, chorizo, cecina), tasty tapas and great bowling!
Another off-center restaurant called the Greenhouse Bar is available on the estate, where it’s possible to have lunch even for non-residents of the hotel. Note that the menu is exactly the same as at the hotel. You can also take a tasting tour of the olive oil produced on site. The history of the Cortijo La Organic hotel in Ronda is marked by the exceptional reputation of LA Amarilla oil, produced by the Gómez de Baeza family since the 1990s. Philippe Starck, co-founder and creative director, has given the brand an elegant identity that is recognizable the world over. The LA Organic brand is now a pioneer in Spain in the production of extra-virgin organic olive oil, and also offers Oleo-tourism experiences in the hotel sector.
At the time of our visit, LA Almazara was under construction, a space designed by Philippe Starck, halfway between a mill and a cultural center, to showcase Spanish olive oil production know-how. To be continued…
