Is Playa Ciudad Luminosa worth it?
Yes, it’s a beautiful urban beach, less dense than the more central sectors depending on the time of day. It is suitable for families, joggers and those looking for a large stretch of sand with amenities. This is one of the beaches to discover in Almería!

Beach type: sandy, supervised…
Sand type
Playa Ciudad Luminosa features dark gray sand, typical of the Almería coastline. It’s slim enough to sit comfortably and comfortable enough to walk along.
On the other hand, we deplore the dirtiness of the beach.

Swimming conditions and supervision
Entry to the water is gradual, with a gentle slope. The beach is usually supervised in summer. Depending on the wind, small waves may appear; refer to the swimming flags for daytime conditions.
Installations
You’ll find outdoor showers, public toilets, deckchair and parasol rentals, and a lifeguard service in season. Bars and chiringuitos are located along the paseo maritime for easy dining.
