Christmas in Cadiz
During the festive season, Cadiz is decked out in all its finery. We were able to enjoy the illuminations, which transform the city into a fairy-tale spectacle of colored lights. The Plaza de San Antonio is home to a traditional Christmas market and a free ice rink that delights young and old alike.
You can also admire the traditional nativity scenes on display in the squares, a tradition dear to Andalucia families. Family celebrations around typical meals of turkey, seafood and nougat add an authentic touch to the experience.

New Year’s Eve in Cadiz
New Year’s Eve is very festive in Cadiz, and continues with the traditional Three Wise Men parade, a magical moment that we highly recommend. Melchior, Gaspar and Baltazar ride through the streets of the old town on their floats, handing out sweets and treats to the children who come to greet them. This colorful parade is the highlight of winter celebrations in Cadiz. You’ll be won over by the warm, family atmosphere of the illuminated streets.
