This opinion is completely independent, based on our experiences. We made our own choices, visited the area anonymously, and paid our bills in full.
Is a visit to Casa Museo Don Bosco worthwhile?
Yes, the Casa Don Bosco house museum is well worth a visit for decoration enthusiasts. We wandered around this house full of charming details: stained glass windows, carved woodwork, azulejos and tapestries).
Last but not least, the house is well worth a visit for its magnificent terraced garden, which promises fragrant relaxation and one of the finest views of the city of Ronda and its famous Pont-Neuf!

What you can see
The colorful patio
Designed by local architect Santiago Sanguinetti, the house is a superb example of early 20th-century modernist architecture. Start your visit with the colorful patio, decorated with plants and a collection of regional ceramics. We particularly liked the blue and white checkerboard benches.

Bourgeois interiors
You’ll then be able to move in any direction you like through the palace’s 3 rooms, whose delightfully old-fashioned charm we appreciated:
- The first room features a chapel and several paintings, and opens onto a veranda with bullfighting engravings by Pedro Mercedes, the famous master ceramist.
- The second room features a piano, floral armchairs, carved wooden doors and 19th-century tapestries with pastoral motifs, made by the Royal Tapestry Factory in Madrid.
- The third room is the dining room.

RENT A CAR IN Andalucia
- Compare prices on our preferred platform: DiscoverCars – one of the best rated sites.
- Choose a compact car, as some villages have very narrow streets!
- Think ofcomprehensive insurance for the same reason
- Book early for choice.

The dining room
In this room, we loved the accumulation of elements between the ornamental wallpaper, the painting of the Last Supper, the bookcase, the red velvet curtains and the ceiling moldings. And we’d like to draw your attention to the large carved walnut mantelpiece, in the pure Castilian style of the 18th and 19th centuries.

The charming garden
This is surely the most enjoyable part of the visit. With their colorful flowerbeds, azulejo staircase, fountain and pool, and palm trees, these terraced gardens are a haven of peace. Enjoy this fragrant and relaxing break!

Panoramic view from the terrace
The main attraction of this house is undoubtedly its breathtaking 360° views, both over the Ronda countryside and over the Tajo (abyss) of Ronda. We stayed for quite a while, enjoying the breathtaking panorama.

How long
As the tour is fairly short, you can get around the museum and garden in just 30 minutes, but it would be a shame not to linger a while on the terrace, and why not enjoy a snack in the cafeteria?
Flamenco guitar concerts are held 5 days a week from March to June and from September to November. So you could combine a late-afternoon visit with a concert! Find out more here.
Best moment
As with all Ronda’s tourist attractions, we advise you to visit them early in the morning or at the very end of the day, to avoid group excursions.
As for the season, we can’t recommend enough that you come in the spring to enjoy the garden’s beautiful blooms!

Direction of visit
There’s no set direction for your visit, but we recommend you start with the rooms of the house and finish with the terrace and panoramic view.
Eating out
The museum has a pleasant terrace overlooking the Tajo de Ronda. We didn’t have time to try out this establishment, but we did see that it offered a few soft drinks, cheese and charcuterie boards to nibble on, and a wide selection of local wines.
All at very reasonable prices.
