Is the Hotel Aire & Ancient Baths worth it? Our review
Absolutely! In our opinion, Hotel Aire & Ancient Baths is one of Almeria’s most remarkable addresses. We particularly appreciated the hotel’s cocoon of serenity and the hushed ambience of the underground spa.
The location in the heart of the historic center also makes it easy to explore the city’s treasures, while the swimming pool is the perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing!
Decoration and atmosphere
Hotel Aire & Ancient Baths is distinguished by its sober, minimalist decor, the work of Barcelona architects Alonso Balaguer. We were seduced by this approach, which highlights noble materials in perfect harmony.
Wood and concrete interact elegantly, creating a contemporary atmosphere that respects our historic heritage. Natural colors dominate, bringing a welcome serenity.

The room
The rooms at Hotel Aire & Ancient Baths perfectly reflect the minimalist spirit of the establishment. We appreciated the refined decor, which plays on noble materials to create a soothing atmosphere. Wood and concrete harmonize in natural tones, offering a cocoon of tranquility.
We liked the layout of the room, with the bedding area lit by a window with plants on one side, and a desk/closet area on the other. The antique wardrobe adds character to this minimalist bedroom.

The bathroom
The bathroom extends the hotel’s minimalist aesthetic with noble materials and a natural color palette. We really liked the idea of an elegant wooden partition to separate the bathroom area from the bedroom. Behind the basins and their large mirrors, there’s a walk-in shower and separate toilet.
The little extra? L’Occitane toiletries and fluffy bathrobes for the spa!
The breakfast
Breakfast at the Hotel Aire & Ancient Baths was buffet-style. On the sweet side, there was plenty of seasonal fruit, cereals and a few pastries. On the savoury side, charcuterie and cheese platters. Despite the choice, we deplore the fact that the products were not necessarily homemade…
However, we particularly appreciated the opportunity to have breakfast on the rooftop with a breathtaking view of the Alcazaba. This exceptional setting is sure to get your day off to a great start!

Hotel Aire & Ancient Baths boasts exceptional facilities, starting with a rooftop swimming pool offering spectacular views of the Alcazaba.
But what really sets this establishment apart is its spa! In the basement, you’ll find a full range of facilities, including the Trepidarium, Caldarium, Frigidarium, whirlpool, high-salt floatation bath and sauna!
We loved the subdued candlelight and soft music, creating an atmosphere of total disconnection.
An extensive massage menu is also available, with treatments ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
The restoration
As well as offering refreshments on the rooftop, the hotel is home to the Cuatro Hojas restaurant. Headed by chef Juanjo Carabajal, it offers inventive cuisine d’auteur – a clever blend of Mediterranean flavors, contemporary tapas and gourmet vegetarian options – in a modern, welcoming setting.
