Best restaurants in Sevilla

1. Restaurant Lalola (Bib gourmand)

We were delighted by this Michelin Bib awarded restaurant. The cuisine is of the finest quality, with top-quality products that will delight meat lovers in particular. We chose à la carte dishes because the tasting menu, although very affordable, requires a big appetite! It includes 5 starters, 5 main courses and 5 desserts, with rather generous portions. Be aware that if you want to take it, everyone at your table will have to do the same.

Our experience began with the cocktail of the day, which we found exquisite. It was made with Saint-Germain liqueur, ginger and cava rosada, a sparkling rosé wine produced in the Barcelona region. We then opted for a presa ibérica (a tender piece of meat corresponding to the central part of the pork loin), accompanied by endives cooked at a low temperature, and a succulent pannacotta for dessert. We were served a sausage butter to accompany the bread. We found it surprising but delicious! Finally, chef Javi Abascal has chosen the modern setting of Torrejón’s One Shot Palacio Conde hotel to set up his restaurant.

2. Restaurant Petit Comité (bistronomic)

Le Petit Comité is an elegant restaurant located just a stone’s throw from the Guadalquivir, the river that flows through Sevilla. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy, with jazz music, string lights, comfortable banquettes and antique paintings. We have seen that the restaurant is sometimes presented as serving a fusion of French and Andalucia traditions. There’s nothing French on the menu, so you can enjoy a change of scene with traditional Andalucia dishes.

For our part, we chose to sample a very tender piece of meat, pluma ibérica, cooked on the grill (the part of the Iberian pig at the end of the backbone). It was served with potatoes and a nice bell pepper sauce. For dessert, we opted for a crumble and red fruit cheesecake, delicious and refreshing. Although we would have liked quicker and warmer service, we enjoyed ourselves at Le Petit Comité.

3. Restaurant Maestro Rufino (tapas bar)

This address is one of our favourites! First of all, we like the setting: a pleasant terrace to soak up the sun on the Alameda de Hércules, in the authentic district of Feria. This friendly tapas bar serves high-quality specialities.

This tapas bar and restaurant is where we enjoyed our best croquetas in Sevilla. These Serrano ham balls surrounded by breadcrumbs were very tasty. It was also in this bar that we tried our best salmorejo, a cold tomato and breadcrumbs soup, accompanied here by olive oil and pieces of raw ham. We found it interesting to be able to take these different dishes, either as tapas or as a main course: it’s ideal for adapting to your appetite! The service was also efficient. We highly recommend this address for an authentic experience!

4. Restaurant Kaleja (1 star)

An overview of the Kaleja restaurant in Malaga

This intimate restaurant (just ten covers) takes its name from the expression callejón, meaning alleyway. While the space is minimalist, the kitchen is masterful.
Restaurant Kaleja’s signature? Slow cooking over a wood fire also inspires the sober decor, dominated by black and punctuated by textured charcoal sculptures.
When it comes to flavors, get ready for a veritable voyage through Andalucia cuisine, enhanced by sequences as elaborate as they are surprising, like this astonishing parsley ice cream, served in an olive oil and clementine juice.
Special mention must be made of the precious crockery that enhances the dishes and the smiling, expert staff, eager to pass on the secrets of the Andalusian terroir.

5. Restaurant Beluga (our favorite)

Beluga restaurant in Malaga

In the refined yet relaxed setting of Restaurant Beluga, we discovered an inventive and generous cuisine, where every dish – from ajo blanco revisited to calamari in wine sauce – celebrates the pride of Andalucia cuisine. Located in the heart of the bustling nightlife, this restaurant manages to preserve a hushed atmosphere, perfect for enjoying dinner.
Don’t miss the chef’s specialty: arroces, a rice-based speciality cooked with richly flavored broths and garnished with local ingredients.
For our part, we opted for the Iberian ham/leek and thearroz a banda, with fish, and were dazzled by the flavors, both frank and delicate.

6. Restaurant Chiringuito El Tintero (seafront)

Restaurant Chiringuito El Tintero in Malaga

Here’s an unusual address, just the way you like it when you travel! There’s no menu here: waiters parade between the tables with freshly-cooked dishes, and all you have to do is raise your hand to indicate what you’re in the mood for. While the “fish market” format of service makes for a bit of a spectacle, the flavours are not to be outdone on the plate! We loved the braised octopus with its patatas bravas, the crispy fried fish or the pil-pil shrimps, marinated in an oil, garlic and chilli sauce.
Please note, however, that you shouldn’t be in a hurry to visit this establishment, but rather allow yourself to be carried away by the lively atmosphere and, failing that, admire the sea view!

7. Restaurant El Mercader (bistronomic, fusion)

A sure bet in Granada! The El Mercader restaurant surprises with its original decor right from the entrance: placemats in the shape of vinyl records, the Asterix comic strip as a menu, and even a dessert menu in the shape of a chocolate bar.
Take a look at one of the room’s walls, too: it’s made up of bottle tops containing recipe books. This cheerful decor extends to the dining room, where the service is warm and friendly, making for a very relaxed, bistronomic restaurant atmosphere.

El Mercader restaurant in Granada

The cuisine is modern, with a fusion of different culinary influences.
The menu changes regularly, and on our visit we sampled a Lebanese-inspired lamb subtly flavored with mint, served with couscous and white yogurt. A nod to star chef Yotam Ottolenghi, whose recipe book reigns supreme!
To round off the meal, we enjoyed a spiced orange cake with an original white chocolate sauce. All this is supported by a selection of carefully chosen wines.

The menu features local specialties with a twist. We feasted onarroz seco de presa ibérica, a dish of Andalusian rice simmered in a pan with chunks of Iberian pork and artichokes. You’ll have to wait 30 minutes to taste this marvel! 9. Restaurant La Taberna de Almodovar (Bib gourmand)

Nestled in an alleyway in the historic center, La Taberna de Almodovar embodies the very essence of the traditional Cordoban tavern. This family-run establishment, awarded a Bib Gourmand by the Michelin Guide, will immediately immerse you in the authentic atmosphere of Andalucia’s tapas bars, with an added touch of refinement. We particularly appreciated the quality of the local produce used in the simple but tasty recipes.

Restaurant La Taberna de Almodovar (Bib gourmand)

During our visit, we began our meal with the inevitable croquetas with serrano ham and a lomo de atun (tuna prepared tataki-style). But the choice was complicated by the wide range of classic tapas on the menu, revisited with finesse. We then sampled a delicious paletillo de cordero lechal al horno, which means a shoulder of suckling lamb browned in the oven. The Taberna de Almodovar also offers a selection of carefully chosen regional wines to accompany your dishes. The ideal place to discover Cordoban gastronomy in an elegant, refined atmosphere.

Passionate chef Rubén González offers a creative menu that evolves with the seasons, highlighting fresh produce. We’re sure you’ll appreciate the restaurant’s setting: a 16th-century Roman house with a beautiful, leafy Andalusian patio.

Restaurant Arbequina

During our visit, we were delighted by the beef sirloin steak with truffled celery root cream and pink peppercorn mustard. We also chose a glazed Iberian pork loin and its parmentier of smoked kimchi and roasted peanuts. We found the combinations bold but successful!
Attentive service and a fine selection of wines complete the experience. If you’re a gourmet in search of new flavors, Arbequina is a must for your stay in Cordoba.

The restaurant offers traditional Cordoban dishes in an authentic setting, with a typical patio that invites you to relax.

12. Restaurant Tragatá (bistronomic)

Dinner at the Restaurant Tragata in Ronda

Here’s a choice address for epicureans in search of the Andalucia soul.
Helmed by chef Benito Gómez, whose Restaurant Bardal in Ronda also boasts two Michelin stars, this restaurant combines authenticity and refinement.
We enjoyed classic tapas starters (including a delicious Russian salad and original salmojero bites with spicy mayonnaise) before continuing with a perfectly grilled pork loin with an exquisite watercress sauce.

13. LA Organic Experience restaurant (magnificent setting)

Lunch at the Restaurant La Organic Experience in Ronda
Toast of tuna ventresca and peppers drizzled with La Organic olive oil

An ideal option if you’re in the mood for a moment out of time. Located in the heart of nature, on the estate surrounded by olive groves and vineyards of our favorite hotel in Ronda, the LA Organic Experience farm-to-table restaurant is, in our opinion, a must-try!
In addition to the enchanting setting overlooking the surrounding countryside, we were delighted by the high-quality local produce. On the menu: cheese boards, cold cuts (lomo, chorizo, cecina), tasty tapas (see photo) and great bowling!

Amazing view from the Restaurant La Organic Experience in Ronda

To accompany our gourmet platters with a note of lightness, we opted for the generous salads, delicately drizzled with olive oil produced on the estate. With its incomparable flavor, we couldn’t resist leaving with a bottle (available in the restaurant store). And for gourmets who want to go one step further, tasting workshops are even available on site: see prices and availability here.

14. Restaurant Casa Puga (tapas)

This is a real Spanish tavern, just the way we like it! Bodegas or tabernas are traditional wine cellars where you can enjoy tapas and hearty dishes in a convivial atmosphere. The Casa Puga tavern, a favorite with locals, is no exception, with its rustic setting featuring large wine jars, colorful azulejos and hams hanging from the ceiling. The atmosphere is vibrant: during our visit, regulars were crowding the counter to enjoy their portions while chatting happily.

A glimpse of the decor at Restaurant Casa Puga in Almeria

On the food side, we were won over by a selection of tasty tapas: a simple salad made divine by fragrant olive oil, an ensalada rusa, an Andalucia specialty made with potatoes and tuna belly. And let’s not forget the delicious Pulpo a la Gallega, grilled octopus with a paprika and chilli sauce.
A simple but tasty feast to accompany a divine selection of wines from the Albuñol region.

In a warm and luminous setting, chef Juanjo Carabajal revisits Andalucia cuisine with talent, combining creativity and generosity. The menu offers a clever mix of classic tapas and daring creations that invite discovery.
A special mention goes to the vegetarian bites, still a rarity in Andalucia, which brilliantly demonstrate that well-worked vegetables – such as fried egg with corn mousse or artichokes au gratin with chilli – can be dishes in their own right and no longer mere accompaniments!
